Year 8 Tough Guyand Gal Challenge

Today a group of 16 year 8's went up to Woodhill to take part in the Tough Guy and Gal Challenge. Even though it was wet everyone had an awesome time! Well done to Michael and Ema who were the first Glenavon Students to finish.

We Belong Day

What an amazing day! It was so much fun seeing everyone dressed up and taking part in the different activities. Here are some of the highlights from the day.

Year 7 and 8 Netball

Today the Year 7 and 8 netball girls played in the Western Zone Competition at Te Pai courts in Henderson. The girls had a great day and showed good sportsmanship in all of their games.

Soup From Our Garden

Today we sold our yummy spinach and celery soup that we made yesterday. We had sold out after 10 minutes!

Today we picked some of the spinach from the school garden and used it to make spinach and celery soup. Some students from Room 11 helped us. The soup will be on sale tomorrow at morning tea for $1 a cup outside Room 1.

Beach Clean Up

Today Jodi from Sustainable Coastlines came to talk to the Senior School about the pollution in our oceans and how it effects the marine life. After that we went and cleaned up Waikowhai Beach, We found sooooo much rubbish! Check out the Glenavon School Facebook page to see all the rubbish we collected.

On Wednesday a group of year 7 and 8 students got to go up to Blockhouse Bay to learn about the Maori New Year, Matariki.
